STAFF ACCOUNTANT (Full-Time, Non-Exempt)

The Diocese of Stockton has an opening for a Staff Accountant.

This position requires the incumbent to manage payroll, investment/bank reconciliations, cash receipts and receivable processes, annual business property statement fillings, fixed assets, and assists in maintaining the general ledger.  Assists with the annual audit as well as other tasks as assigned. These functions are performed for several databases.

Demonstrates the ability to maintain the confidentiality of employee personnel files and payroll operations in addition to successful accounting experience with general ledger, accounts receivable, and accounts payable, preferably in a non-profit work environment.

Must have a BA/BS or equivalent in accounting, bookkeeping or related field or experience, and have a strong knowledge of MS Excel.

This position reports to the Controller.

ESL/CIVICS Teacher position

Description

Catholic Charities Naturalization ESL/CIVICS program is seeking to immediately fill an ESL/Civics teacher position to provide class on Monday through Thursday evenings from 6: 00-9:00 pm; two days and up to eight hours a week.

Desired Qualifications: Strong oral and written communication skills, punctuality, excellent work ethic, dependability, flexibility, organization skills, self-motivated, strong inter-personal and cross-cultural skills, energetic and creative, tech friendly, enjoys learning and teaching to adult and foreign students.

Catholic Charities, Controller

Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Stockton is looking for a capable, diligent Financial Controller to manage the accounting operations of the agency, as well as cash management and risk management, along with supervising all accounting staff.  The position is responsible for developing the annual budget, and audit, and to plan, implement and assure effectiveness of the agency’s financial management and operations systems. Other responsibilities include the management of complex record-keeping systems for contracts received from multiple governmental and private agencies and overseeing the accuracy and integrity of financial records.   

Financial Controller Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in finance, accounting or related field and minimum of 5 years successful experience directing and managing the financial systems for non- profit organizations. Management experience; leadership skills; interpersonal skills; reliability; solid written and verbal communication skills; high attention to detail; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; computer skills; understanding of data privacy standards.
